Get to know Nick Bowden, our Head of Regulatory Affairs, who’s not just an expert in the gambling industry, but also a family man and a sports enthusiast.
Nick is a proud alumnus of the University of Huddersfield, where he earned a BSc Hons in Health & Sports Studies. Currently, he’s delving deep into the world of anti-money laundering by pursuing an International Diploma in Anti-Money Laundering with the ICA.
Living in the picturesque Laxey on the Isle of Man, Nick is a dedicated husband to his wife, Samantha, and a loving father to their two daughters, Emira and Elsie. Though they don’t have pets, Nick’s life is still full of adventure and fun.
Nick’s career journey began after university when he joined a contracting company in the Isle of Man. Over his 12-year tenure, he eventually became the New Business and Compliance Manager, leading a team of 14 across two offices. Later, Nick shifted gears and took on the role of Finance & Admin Support Manager for the Income Tax Division of the Isle of Man Government.
His passion for the gambling industry took flight when he joined the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission (GSC) as an Inspector. It was during his time at GSC that he crossed paths with Lee and Nick from SolutionsHub. They were so impressed with Nick’s work that they offered him the opportunity to join their team as Head of Regulatory Affairs in August 2022.
Nick’s favorite part of his job is the continuous learning and the opportunity to work with a passionate team. He’s excited to take on his new role as an MLRO and can’t wait to assist with a license application soon.
Away from work, Nick is an all-rounder who loves spending time with his family, playing golf, socializing with friends, and running in fell races. He’s also a die-hard Liverpool fan and enjoys watching movies and series at home.
But did you know? Nick once landed in the hospital for two nights after a jellyfish sting at Laxey beach sent him into anaphylactic shock. And if that’s not enough, he also dabbled in playing the piano growing up.
