If we want to fight the black market, we must speak the player’s language

The industry spends a significant amount of time discussing enforcement, regulation and control. Far less time is spent asking a more fundamental question, why are players leaving the regulated market in the first place.
In my latest article for iGaming News, I explore a point that should sit at the centre of the black market debate.
The regulated market increasingly speaks in the language of compliance, restriction and process. The black market speaks in the language of the player.
If we want to address the black market properly, we need to understand that this is not just a regulatory problem. It is a product problem. It is a user experience problem. And critically, it is a communication problem.
I am grateful to iGaming News for publishing the piece.
