Robert Penfold

Robert Penfold brings over 20 years of senior experience in governance, risk, audit and compliance across the global gaming and financial services industries.

He spent more than eight years at Playtech plc, the world’s largest online gaming software and services supplier, where he served as Director of Internal Audit & Risk and sat on the company’s Audit, Risk and Governance Committees. Robert oversaw global audit programmes, helping the business meet complex regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.

Prior to that, Robert held senior roles at bwin.party digital entertainment plc, where he managed risk frameworks across regulated markets including Spain, Denmark, Italy, Belgium, France and Gibraltar. More recently, he worked with the Isle of Man Government’s Attorney General Chambers as Governance, Risk & Compliance Manager, introducing new frameworks and leading on data governance initiatives.

Robert is a member of the Institute of Risk Management and the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors, and is certified as an ISO 27001 ISMS Internal Auditor. His expertise spans internal audit, regulatory compliance, AML/KYC oversight, risk management, corporate governance and data protection.
